Maral (Blaan dance) at the NaFFAA Region 4 Honoring Empowered Women using the music of the late Fu Lumbey Julie of Landan, Polomolok, South Cotabato as recorded by German ethnomusicologist Hans Brandeis 20 years ago (1997). Dance depicts traditional role of Blaan woman in the household as a wife (focus on such as child rearing), a woman that takes care of herself, helping in the farm (specific highlight on upland rice planting and harvesting), and a woman playing the lute musical instrument Faglung.
